Bristol Bears speedster Louis Rees-Zammit is a notable absentee for Saturday’s Investec Champions Cup clash between the English club and Stormers at Cape Town Stadium.
The aerial battle between the Wales star and Stormers 15 Damian Willemse was billed as one of the key match-ups when the teams met in the Mother City this week.
Rees-Zammit is a proven try-scorer and is equally at home at fullback or on the wing, yet Bears boss Pat Lam has named a back three of Tobi Wilson, Max Pepper and Aidan Boshoff, who was raised partly in Cape Town.
TEAM: New-look Stormers pack to tackle Bears
Matias Moroni and Josh Caulfield, meanwhile, are set to make their first appearances of the season. Los Pumas centre Moroni starts in midfield alongside Bristolian Jack Bates, while Caulfield partners Pedro Rubiolo in the second row.
Academy duo Tomas Gwilliam and Jimmy Halliwell join centurion Jake Woolmore in the front row. Flanker Kenzie Jenkins lines up alongside Joe Owen and Georgian international Luka Ivanishvili.
KEO: Bulls, Stormers mean business in Europe
Scrumhalf Kieran Marmion captains the side, partnering rookie flyhalf Sam Worsley at halfback.
With 80 club appearances, back James Williams brings experience to the bench as fellow replacements Harry Wells, Sol Moody, Andrew Turner, Sam Scott, Paddy Pearce, Ollie Harris and Victor Worsnip combine for 69 caps.
