After “one of the hardest four weeks” of his career, Springbok prop Ox Nché now has his sights fixed on the Wallabies and the Nations Championship at the end of the year.
Nché played more than 185 minutes across the four Tests of the Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry against the All Blacks, starting three of them. The Boks claimed a 3-1 series win in Baltimore two weeks ago.
The 52-Test prop will start on the bench at Perth’s Optus Stadium on Sunday, and quoted by RugbyPass, he opened up on the world champions’ focus and goals.

“It’s definitely the hardest competition I’ve had to participate in. It was a great honour to be part of it but it was one of the hardest four weeks that I’ve ever had as a rugby player, from when I started playing rugby,” Nché said.
“There’s a lot to improve on. Now we’re looking forward to Australia and the Nations Championship at the end of the year. We just have to try to build towards the next World Cup.”

Nché, who last year became the first prop shortlisted for World Rugby’s Player of the Year, has been named among 13 team changes by Rassie Erasmus this week.
“With rugby evolving and getting better, getting quicker, more physical, I feel like I still stayed the same; be very good at my fundamentals, be able to scrum more, obviously tackle well, carry well,” he added.
“But always the fundamentals, always remain important for me, and make sure that I’m good at that and then improve all other areas.”
The Boks’ Nations Championship campaign resumes in November, with Erasmus’ men unbeaten after July’s home series wins over England, Scotland and Wales.
South Africa’s face Italy (7 November), France (14 November) and Ireland (21 November), with the finals weekend at Twickenham scheduled for 27-29 November.
