Haashim Pead will reportedly contribute towards the transfer fee required to secure his move from the Lions to the Stormers.
News24 reported on Saturday that the two clubs had finally reached an agreement over the 21-year-old scrumhalf after weeks of negotiations, with a third party helping the Stormers pay a “reasonable” transfer fee.
According to Rapport, Pead will also contribute towards the fee required to buy him out of his Lions contract, which runs until 2028.
It also claims negotiations between Pead’s agency, Roc Nation, the Lions and Stormers are expected to be concluded on Monday after the Cape club increased its initial offer this past week.
The final transfer fee is unknown.

Pead could report for duty in Cape Town as early as Tuesday or Wednesday, with his Stormers contract reportedly running until 2030.
The Bo-Kaap-born Junior Boks star is seeking more game time after finding himself behind Morné van den Berg and Nico Steyn in the Lions’ scrumhalf pecking order.
The Stormers, meanwhile, are short of depth at No 9 following Dewaldt Duvenage’s retirement and a serious knee injury to Imad Khan, while Springbok Cobus Reinach will be unavailable for periods of the URC season.
