Ben Youngs says he hopes England flank Henry Pollock scores a first-half hat-trick against the Springboks at Ellis Park to rile up local fans.
The 21-year-old is set to face the Boks for the first time when England open their Nations Championship campaign in Joburg next Saturday, having enjoyed a meteoric rise over the past 18 months.
Pollock has already got under the skin of many Bok supporters, fuelling anticipation for the clash with a cheeky social media post that read: “See you soon,” accompanied by a South African flag and blood emojis.
Youngs, however, wants the youngster to take things even further if England are on top.
Speaking on the For the Love of Rugby podcast alongside former Bok props Steven Kitshoff and Trevor Nyakane, Youngs said: “I personally cannot wait, and I love how he’s already under people’s skin and how much he already annoys you lot. So I hope he has an absolute belter out there.
“I hope he gets a first-half hat-trick. I don’t encourage big celebrations, but maybe giving it the big V’s to the fans after scoring his third try, like give it the absolute big one and just rattling all of you.
“I would sit there, beer in hand, pissing myself if that happens.
“The rage bait that he can create through having a stormer and scoring some tries and getting under everyone’s skin.”

Nyakane said Pollock shouldn’t change his approach against the Boks.
“It’s part of his game. So he must go out there, express himself, enjoy it and be himself,” he said.
“It might get under other people’s skins or whatever, if he’s not putting on a show and it’s just him, it’s just him being himself, then hey, do you bro.”
