PSDT remains Boks’ relentless force

Pieter-Steph du Toit’s looming 100th Test cap is testament to the resilience and sacrifice that have defined one of the great Springbok careers.

The milestone is celebrated in the new issue of SA Rugby magazine, with the cover feature examining how the ‘Malmesbury Missile’ has repeatedly overcome serious injury to become an indispensable member of the Boks’ golden generation.

Du Toit’s achievements are extraordinary: two World Cup and three Rugby Championship titles, a British & Irish Lions series win and two World Rugby Player of the Year awards.

His 28 tackles in the 2023 World Cup final against the All Blacks remain one of the defining individual performances of South Africa’s back-to-back triumphs.

Yet his journey has also included two ACL reconstructions, multiple ankle and shoulder operations and a life-threatening thigh injury in 2020 that required emergency surgery.

Through it all, Du Toit has kept coming back – and kept putting the team first.
