Qing Madi makes Billboard’s 21 under 21 list

Nigerian singer Qing Madi has landed a coveted spot on Billboard’s prestigious 21 Under 21 list for 2024.

The 17-year-old, recognized as one of the music industry’s most innovative and influential young artists. Already turning heads,Madi earned praise from established stars like Ayra Starr and Wizkid.

Signed to Columbia Records, Bu Vision & Jton Music, Madi burst onto the scene in 2023. Her debut self-titled EP and U.S. tour alongside BNXN’s Sincerely BNXN Tour solidified her arrival. The standout track Vision even got a remix featuring Chlöe, complete with a self-co-directed music video.

Citing Kendrick Lamar as a major influence on her songwriting, Madi says his music “basically taught me how to write.” But it’s Burna Boy and Wizkid who hold a special place in her heart. Growing up listening to them, she credits them for “pushing the Afrobeats culture” and inspiring her dreams.

Madi’s inclusion alongside artists like NewJeans, GAYLE, and Tate McRae shows her undeniable talent and potential. She is to become a leading voice in Afrobeats and the music world at large.
