Coach Rassie Erasmus has addressed the speculation around Siya Kolisi’s readiness to lead the Springboks in the Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry series.
Kolisi is set to make his return from a hamstring injury against Argentina in Buenos Aires next Saturday after missing the entire Nations Championship campaign.
The two-time World Cup winner was among five fit-again players named on Friday in a 26-man squad bound for South America and is in line to earn his 104th Test cap.
However, the 35-year-old’s future in the starting XV has come under scrutiny following the emergence of flanker Paul de Villiers during his absence.
But, speaking to the media earlier in the week, Erasmus dismissed any uncertainty about who will lead the four-time world champions when the Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry campaign against the All Blacks kicks off at Ellis Park on 22 August.
“Without a doubt. He is fit, he is the captain,” the Bok boss stated.
