Razor relishing Bok showdown

Barbarians coach Scott Robertson has praised the Springboks’ blend of youth and experience ahead of Saturday’s clash in Gqeberha.

The former All Blacks boss expects a stern examination from a Bok team featuring both established stars and exciting young talent.

“Any player who puts a Bok jersey on deserves it,” Robertson said.

“I like the mix of the U20 players coming in. It is a helluva match team they have put out, with plenty of experience.

“They will be proud, as they normally are.”

Meanwhile, the famous invitational side has assembled a squad featuring Test stars from across the rugby world and will look to stay true to the attacking philosophy that has made the black-and-white jersey one of the sport’s most recognisable symbols.

“We are all really excited for Saturday,” Robertson said. “To play against the world champions in South Africa is an awesome opportunity.

“We have embraced the Barbarians’ spirit and tradition this week, coming together as a group and enjoying each other’s company in Cape Town.”
