Lions captain Francke Horn says his side is raring to go against Vodacom URC log-leaders the Glasgow Warriors at Ellis Park on Saturday.
Four successive wins have lifted the Lions up to fifth on the table ahead of two crucial home fixtures against Glasgow and Connacht.
“We’ve put ourselves in this position and we’re all really looking forward to the next two matches at home,” Horn told IOL Sport. “It could put us exactly where we want to be when the playoffs come around.”
STATE OF THE URC: SA sides eye playoff prize
The Joburg-based outfit has used a timely break, due to the EPCR playoffs, to reset both mentally and physically.
“For the first week and a half, we had some time off, which meant we could spend Easter weekend with family, and that was really good,” Horn said.
“The break also gave guys a chance to sort out niggles and step away from rugby mentally, which helped a lot.
“Last week, we were able to sharpen parts of our game and analyse Glasgow and what they might bring.”

Despite Glasgow’s surprise Investec Champions Cup quarter-final exit to Toulon, Horn expects a stern test from the Scottish side.
“It doesn’t matter whether they bring a full-strength team or not,” he said. “We’ll focus on what we need to do to put ourselves in a strong position.”
The Lions finish their regular season with tour matches against Leinster and Munster, and will know the importance of capitalising at Ellis Park over the next two weeks.
“The idea of taking it game by game really rings true for us,” Horn said. “You can get caught up thinking too far ahead and then your focus slips.
“We know where we want to be after these two matches, but it starts with Glasgow. That’s our priority.”
