Nine South Africans have been named in the Fantasy URC Team of the Week for round one of the 2026-27 campaign.
The fan engagement concept recognises the highest-scoring player in each position based on real-life statistics from the round, with points awarded for actions including tries, tackles, carries and successful kicks.
The Bulls and Sharks provide the biggest contingent with four apiece.
Luan Giliomee and Vusi Muyo were recognised for their efforts in the Sharks’ victory against the Ospreys, along with their skipper Nick Hatton and veteran prop Vincent Koch.

As for the Bulls, scrumhalf Paul de Wet and lock Reinhardt Ludwig – who touched down once and twice, respectively, in a seven-try rout of Zebre – are joined by speedster Stravino Jacobs and second-row enforcer Ruan Vermaak.
The Lions have one player, Erich Cronjé, who scored a brace in a narrow win over defending champions Leinster at Ellis Park.
