SA U18 teams rotate for round-two clashes

SA U18 and SA U18 A have made wholesale changes for Tuesday’s U18 International Series matches at Boland Landbou.

The A team will again open the day’s schedule against Georgia U18 at 11:30am. That match will be followed by England U18 vs France U18 from 1:30pm and SA U18 vs Ireland U18 from 3:30pm. The games will be broadcast live on YouTube, by SuperSport and SuperSport Schools.

Both South African sides got off to a winning start last Friday in Durbanville, with the A team clinching a thrilling 32-31 win over Ireland U18 and SA U18 hammering France U18 59-7.

SA U18 coach Lwazi Zangqa has retained only five players from the starting line-up that beat the French – captain and No 8 Jacobus de Villiers, flanker Jamie Wimble, lock Juvan Burden, right wing Anesu Kuzonyei and Lamla Mgedezi, who moves from fullback to left wing.

SA U18 A coach Flash Malinga has retained only four players from the starting XV that edged Ireland. Lock Martin van Niekerk keeps the captaincy and is the only forward to start a second match in a row. Among the backs, fullback Rhandzu Mkhabela, and midfielders Nathan Aneke and Amogelang Mataboge will start again.
