SA-born British & Irish Lions prop Pierre Schoeman makes his first appearance of the season in Edinburgh’s home opener against the Stormers at Hive Stadium on Friday.
The Scotland loosehead is one of two changes to Sean Everitt’s starting XV following last week’s win over Ulster in round one of the URC, with 20-year-old tighthead Ollie Blyth-Lafferty also making his season debut.
Schoeman and Blyth-Lafferty join Harri Morris in the front row, with locks Callum Hunter-Hill and Glen Young retaining their spots. Co-captain Magnus Bradbury starts at No 8, with Liam McConnell and Freddy Douglas completing the loose trio.
