Paul Roos earned a thrilling win against Paarl Boys’ at the Markötter Stadium, while Stellenberg, Westville and Garsfontein also claimed notable victories.
Fresh off their win against Stellenberg, Paarl Boys’ travelled to Stellenbosch to face an in-form Paul Roos, who extended their winning streak to six with a 28-22 victory.
The hosts set the tone early, tries from inside centre Albert Nel, right wing Tevez Cupido and left wing Cadynn Samuels giving them a 15-0 lead after 25 minutes.
Flyhalf Travis Pheiffer added a penalty before lock Trichard van Tonder got Boishaai on the board to make it 18-7 at the break.
The second half was a physically brutal contest with both sides exchanging heavy hits. Samuels crossed for his second to extend the lead before replacement lock Derrick Groenewald went over for Boishaai.
But Pheiffer’s penalty goal put Paul Roos ahead 28-17, with replacement wing Xavier Swarts’ try in the final play mere consolation for the visitors.
