Stormers attack guru Dawie Snyman has welcomed scrumhalf reinforcements André Warner and Haashim Pead, who will add experience and depth to the club.
André Warner has joined the Cape club on a six-month loan deal from Major League Rugby outfit, the Seattle Seawolves. The Lions on Monday confirmed Pead will link up with the Stormers.
Imad Khan suffered a knee injury against the All Blacks on 7 August that left the Stormers light at halfback following Dewaldt Duvenage’s retirement and Cobus Reinach’s involvement with the Springboks.

“We lost Immy against the All Blacks, which is a big injury and will keep him out for a long time. He was well set up to have a great season,” Snyman said from Galway on Tuesday, as the Stormers prepare to face Connacht in their season opener on Friday.
“In saying that, the opportunity is now there for a guy like Warner. He actually just came to training because he needed to keep fit before going back to the United States.
“We’re a little bit skinny in that position so we got him in. Obviously, it helps that everyone knows him quite well. We’ve played against him a few times.
“He’s a very experienced player with really good basics, so it’s great to have him in our squad.”

He said Pead’s move to Cape Town complements the Stormers’ game model. The 21-year-old scorched his way to a tournament-high six tries at the World Rugby U20 Championship last year.
“We’re very excited about him. He’s going to fit into the way we want to play and how we put our game together,” Snyman added.
“I think he’s going to bring a lot of excitement to the squad, so it’s a great addition for us.”
