The Springboks were quick to congratulate Bafana Bafana after they qualified for the Fifa World Cup knockout stage for the first time.
Hugo Broos’ team beat South Korea 1-0 at Estadio Monterrey in Guadalupe, Mexico, to finish second in Group A and advance to the last 32, where they will face co-hosts Canada in Los Angeles on Sunday (9pm SA time).

Congratulating Bafana in a post on the Springboks’ X account, SA Rugby said: “This is a moment of immense pride and historic significance for our nation.
