Stormers get boost for Cheetahs duel

Head coach Tom Dawson-Squibb has recalled an experienced playmaker and leader as the Stormers XXIII target a third home win of the Currie Cup season on Sunday.

Flyhalf Jean-Luc du Plessis returns from injury to captain the team against the Cheetahs at Athlone Stadium, with the flyhalf the only change in the backline.

There are three changes among the forwards, with Mhleli Khuzwayo starting at loosehead prop and Xola Nyali and Divan Fuller coming into the loose trio.

Dawson-Squibb said his team is looking to build on their home form while maintaining continuity in selection.

“The support we got last week was phenomenal, and we know that the atmosphere at Athlone Stadium is going to be unreal once again,” he said.

“We have kept as much continuity in selection as possible, and hopefully we can see another step-up in the performance on Sunday.”
