The Stormers XXIII have reportedly had to change their second row to face the Boland Cavaliers on Sunday, and scrumhalf Louis Schreuder promises there will be “edge”.
According to Netwerk24, coach Tom Dawson-Squibb has been forced into a reshuffle after lock Tom Barnard picked up an undisclosed injury.
Dylan de Leeuw is now expected to start, while Luan Botha will now make his debut off the bench for the Cape derby at Boland Park.
Schreuder, a former Stormers and Western Province scrumhalf now with the Cavaliers, told Netwerk24 the neighbourly rivalry adds extra bite to the round-two Currie Cup clash.
“I can promise you there’s a kind of edge. It’s more personal because they are our neighbour team,” he said.

Fellow ex-Stormer Ali Vermaak is set to make his debut for Boland against his former team after recovering from concussion, replacing Mthokozisi Gumede.
The veteran loosehead prop is one of three changes to Hawies Fourie’s starting XV from the lineup that beat the Bulls XV 24-10 last week.
“Ali has a world of experience,” said Schreuder. “I told the guys that Ali has been scrumming against one of the best, if not the best tighthead prop in the world, Frans Malherbe, in training for the last 15 years.
“He knows his story.”
The Stormers edged defending champions Griquas 25-19 in round one, and Schreuder rates the newly branded outfit, praising their physicality, cohesion and well drilled under attack coach Dewaldt Duvenage and scrum guru Brok Harris.
