Thomas Partey has finally addressed the controversy surrounding his denied entry into Canada, breaking his silence after being unable to join Ghana for the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The midfielder described the situation as deeply disappointing, insisting that he had complied with all necessary procedures and had nothing to hide. Partey’s absence became one of the biggest talking points ahead of Ghana’s opening World Cup fixture, with fans left questioning why one of the Black Stars’ most experienced players was unable to travel.
Despite the speculation spread across social media, the former Arsenal midfielder has now offered his own perspective, maintaining that he respects the authorities’ decision despite the frustration it has caused.
He said,
“Things happen in football that you cannot control. But for me, now I feel okay and ready to play.”
