Free State, Western Province, Boland and the Sharks were victorious on day one of the U18 Craven Week at Grey High School in Gqeberha.
Free State thrashed the Limpopo Blue Bulls 66-41 on the Kolisi Field, with flyhalf Zachary Walbrugh scoring 31 points, including a hat-trick of tries. Free State centres Ruan Roux and Eddie Mabena each grabbed a brace.
Boland fired late to secure a 39-20 victory against the Leopards, before the Sharks defeated SWD 36-19.
In the final clash of the day, Western Province scored 21 unanswered second-half points to defeat hosts Eastern Province 42-25, with flyhalf Achmat Behardien kicking six conversions and adding a try at the death.
