Jasper Wiese led the world champion Springboks’ charge at Kings Park in another demolition of Wales.
The hulking No 8 returned to the Bok starting XV for the Nations Championship Test, following his back-to-back outings in South Africa’s victories over the Barbarians and England.
Against Wales in Durban, Wiese delivered exactly what Bok fans have come to relish from the back-row battering ram. He provided a powerful carrying option across the park while adding physicality to the Bok pack.

His influence was central to the 43-0 victory, the Boks’ second whitewash of the Welsh in less than a year after last November’s 73-0 rout in Cardiff.
Wiese carried 10 times for 61 metres, beat four defenders, completed nine tackles and scored a try.
More than the numbers, his presence gave South Africa front-foot ball, helping to establish control and create attacking opportunities for the likes of backs Cobus Reinach and Jaco Williams to dot down in the seven-try triumph for Rassie Erasmus’ charges.

It was also a special occasion for Wiese, the 30-year-old taking to the field with younger sibling, Cobus, as the 37th pair of brothers to represent the Boks.
Both men are set to feature prominently in the green and gold when the Boks return to action against Los Pumas in Buenos Aires on 8 August and the Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry series, starting 22 August.
