Teddy Wilson is set to follow in the footsteps of his World Cup-winning father David after being named in the Wallabies squad for the Nations Championship.
The 23-year-old scrumhalf is one of two uncapped players selected by coach Les Kiss, who has tapped him as backup to Ryan Lonergan and Tate McDermott. Loosehead prop Tom Lambert is also in the squad for the first time.
David Wilson played 79 times for the Wallabies, nine as captain, and was part of the 1999 World Cup-winning side.

The squad is boosted by the return of Europe-based pair Taniela Tupou and Tom Hooper, who played crucial bench roles in Australia’s win over the world champion Springboks in Perth. Kiss was without both for the back-to-back Bledisloe Cup defeats to New Zealand that followed, as those Tests fell outside World Rugby’s global player release period.
Flyhalves Carter Gordon and Ben Donaldson and centre Len Ikitau all return from injury, while Hunter Paisami is back after serving a suspension for a high tackle.

The Wallabies head to Europe next month for Tests against England, Scotland and Wales.
“There’s a real buzz among the squad as we prepare for what will be four incredibly demanding matches against high-quality opposition as part of the November Nations Championship Tests,” Kiss said.
“As coaches we’ve made some tough selection calls to keep building depth across the board and we know a tour like this will challenge the whole squad on many levels.
“This tour gives us another valuable opportunity to test new combinations, strengthen our existing connections and push our game forward in all areas.”
