Hawies Fourie has appointed two former Springboks to his Boland Cavaliers coaching staff to fill the gap left by Pote Human’s departure to the Bulls.
According to Rapport, former Bok tighthead prop BJ Botha has been at the Cavaliers for three weeks and taken charge of their scrums. Andries Bekker, the former Bok lock, has been appointed lineout coach and will join the team in Wellington in November.
Bekker, 42, returns to South African professional rugby after leaving the Bulls at the end of last year.
Jake White appointed him Bulls forwards coach in July 2023, but he lost his job after Johan Ackermann took over. He has since worked in Russia, where he coached the forwards at Strela-Agro Kazan.

Botha, 46, played 25 Tests for the Springboks between 2006 and 2010 and was known for his sound scrumming technique. He started his own scrum academy after his playing days.
Human, who was released from his Boland contract as assistant coach two years early to join the Bulls, wanted to move closer to his family.
