Bulls captain cited

Marcell Coetzee will face a disciplinary committee on Wednesday night after being cited for foul play.

The incident involved Ulster lock Ben Donnell during last Saturday’s URC clash at Loftus.

The Bulls captain is alleged to have breached Laws 9.20(a) and 9.20(b), which prohibit dangerous play at a ruck or maul, including charging into an opponent without binding and making contact above the shoulders.

The disciplinary hearing will take place via video conference, with Ben Rutherford (Ireland) chairing a panel that also includes Declan Goodwin and Chris Morgan (Wales).

Meanwhile, Leinster prop Tadhg Furlong will face a disciplinary hearing on Thursday after allegedly grabbing Munster No 8 Gavin Coombes’ testicles during Saturday’s URC match in Dublin.

Last season, Bulls hooker Jan-Hendrik Wessels was suspended for nine weeks (later reduced to eight) for allegedly grabbing Connacht’s Josh Murphy’s testicles, despite there being no clear video evidence.
