Skills coach Labeeb Levy wants the Stormers to go all out in their final game before the November break when they host Ulster in Cape Town on Saturday afternoon.
John Dobson’s charges lock horns with the winless Ulstermen in round five of the URC at Cape Town Stadium. The fifth-placed Stormers are unbeaten at home after three matches, having beaten the Scarlets 52-40 last week.
“The term used is ‘empty the tank’, and this is a short week because we gave the guys off [on Monday], to keep them fresher for the weekend … then just give everything,” Levy said. “Touch wood, we can keep on going with that momentum.”
ICYMI: Scarra answers Stormers’ SOS call
The Stormers scored eight tries against the Scarlets, taking their tally to 21 since returning from a two-match tour at the start of the season. Levy was particularly impressed by Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu’s contribution to Haashim Pead’s try.
He is also encouraged by the youngsters’ desire to express themselves.

“If I look at Sacha’s pass, it’s quite audacious because he made an error before that. That’s the thing about young players … They bring a different energy to an established environment, because they’re naturally brave.
“They’re not overstepping but they have the ability to take chances and have a go, which is nice for the entire coaching staff, not only me.
“Any coach wants to see his players be comfortable in the environment. And if you’re comfortable, you need to express yourself, even after making an error.”

Ulster are 13th on the table after losing 34-26 to the Bulls last week, and also without eight players who have joined the Ireland squad for next month’s Nations Championship.
Levy would not describe the visitors as weakened, pointing out that the last meeting between the clubs ended in a 38-38 draw in Belfast.
Feinberg-Mngomezulu is among the notable Springboks expected to be rested by Stormers boss John Dobson this week. Levy said the Capetonians will field their strongest possible line-up, which will be announced on Wednesday.

“We want to end this phase on a high before we go into the break,” he added. “We always have tough battles against Ulster. They come at you.
“Our goal is to get this over the line and we’re not underestimating any aspect of the game. Last time we played, it was close.”
