“I’ve Been Waiting on This”: Cassper Reacts To Six Nigerians Arrested In Cape Town By The FBI. Cassper Nyovest has weighed in on the extradition of six Nigerian nationals from Cape Town to the United States, where they are expected to face charges linked to an alleged multimillion-rand online romance scam operation.
Footage showing the suspects being escorted through Cape Town International Airport and handed over to US authorities circulated on social media following their extradition on Friday, 11 September 2026. The men were arrested in South Africa in 2021 and are accused of wire fraud and money laundering offences in the United States.
The US case alleges that the suspects were involved in sophisticated online romance scams that targeted more than 100 American women and caused losses exceeding R100 million, reportedly around $6 million.
South African authorities worked with Interpol South Africa, the Hawks, the FBI and the US Secret Service during the extradition process. The suspects were transported from a Cape Town correctional facility under heavy security, with SANDF support, before being flown to the US.
The six men have been identified in reports as Perry Osagiede, Collins Owhofasa Otughwor, Osariemen Eric Clement, Musa Mudashiru, Franklyn Edosa Osagiede and Prince Ibeabuchi Mark. Some reports have differed on the precise list of suspects ultimately extradited. Two other people who were arrested in connection with the broader investigation followed separate legal processes.
The development caught the attention of Nyovest, who shared footage of the airport handover while commenting on what he believes could be further arrests.
“This Cape Town right? Oh I been waiting on this. I guarantee you there’s more that will be fetched soon. It’s looking Crazy in Cape Town. The boys a BALLING OUTA CONTROL YAHOO STYLE,” the rapper wrote.
Nyovest’s comments placed the extradition within the wider public debate surrounding alleged internet fraud networks and displays of unexplained wealth in Cape Town. His reference to “Yahoo style” points to the term commonly used for online fraud schemes associated with so-called “Yahoo Boys”.
The suspects’ extradition follows a legal process that began after their arrests in 2021 as part of a broader Hawks investigation. The case went through the South African courts before the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court ultimately cleared the way for their transfer to the US.
US authorities allege that the operation relied on online relationships to persuade victims to send money. The alleged victims reportedly included pensioners and businesspeople who were targeted through carefully cultivated interactions.
The case also comes amid continued international law enforcement efforts against Black Axe, which authorities in several countries have associated with cyber-enabled financial crimes. South African authorities have conducted multiple operations targeting alleged romance and investment scam networks.
For Nyovest, the extradition appears to represent only part of a bigger crackdown. His prediction that more people could be “fetched soon” has added another layer to the public conversation surrounding alleged criminal networks operating in Cape Town.
The six suspects have now been transferred to US authorities, where they will face the charges against them through the American legal system.
