Juarno Augustus will start at No 8 for Ulster against the Bulls in Saturday’s URC clash at Loftus Versfeld.
The 28-year-old arrived in Pretoria on the back of a Man of the Match performance in Ulster’s 40-21 EPCR Challenge Cup win against Zebre Parma last weekend.
Augustus came through the Stormers ranks and starred for the Northampton Saints in England before heading to Ireland.
CAM: Trokkie an exceptional player
The former Junior Springbok will form a loose trio with David McCann and Nick Timoney as Ulster look to secure their first URC win of the campaign.
Coach Richie Murphy has named eight players who have been included in Ireland’s Nations Championship squad for November.
Among them are experienced centre Stuart McCloskey, who partners Jamie Benson in midfield, and fullback Jacob Stockdale.
Nathan Doak and Jack Murphy continue as the halfback pairing, with Michael Lowry and Chay Mullins on the wings.
TEAM: Captain Coetzee returns as Bulls shuffle pack
Up front, Tom O’Toole, Tom Stewart and Keynan Knox form the front row, while Ben Donnell and Cormac Izuchukwu start in the second row.
Murphy has opted for a six-two split on the bench, with South African lock Eli Snyman among the forward replacements.
Ulster lost their URC opener at home to Edinburgh before drawing 33-33 away to the Glasgow Warriors and 26-26 at home to Munster.
ULSTER – 15 Jacob Stockdale, 14 Chay Mullins, 13 Jamie Benson, 12 Stuart McCloskey, 11 Michael Lowry, 10 Jack Murphy, 9 Nathan Doak, 8 Juarno Augustus, 7 Nick Timoney, 6 David McCann, 5 Cormac Izuchukwu, 4 Ben Donnell, 3 Keynan Knox, 2 Tom Stewart (c), 1 Tom O’Toole.
