Springbok centre Ethan Hooker says he can “learn a thing or two” from the Sharks’ talented young backs.
The 23-year-old has enjoyed playing alongside the likes of 19-year-old fullback Zekhethelo Siyaya, who was named Man of the Match in the Sharks’ win against Cardiff at the Arms Park last week, and flyhalf Vusi Moyo (20), currently sidelined through injury.
Another talented youngster, 20-year-old utility back Luan Giliomee, recently left the Sharks to join the Bulls.
“I love it,” said Hooker ahead of Saturday’s match against Munster in Limerick. “The guys are still young enough where they’ve just got so much energy, and all they want is the ball and to do magic with the ball.

“Playing in a backline like that almost elevates me to start being hungry for the ball myself.
“These guys see space that other guys don’t see. Coming straight out of school, some of the things they can do are quite miraculous.
“But they manage to pull it off, and sometimes they make a few mistakes, and that’s where myself and André [Esterhuizen] come in. We sort of keep them level-headed, maybe help them a bit.
“But they’re so naturally talented. You can learn a thing or two just based on their pure instinct.”
